How can I distinct freezing behavior and immobility behavior?

Namely, all of the software for quantification of freezing behavior counts immobility as freezing! Majority of papers has its own way of calculating the freezing and there is a bunch of different behavioral protocols! Namely, every freezing is immobility but every immobility is not freezing!!! Software for quantification of freezing equals them. Also majority of papers and researchers state that freezing was measured as immobility longer than 3 or 5 seconds depending on the paper. Why are results so biased and ambiguous? How can you mix these two behaviors when especially in the context of evaluating the fear extinction in fear conditioning paradigm where freezing behavior has characteristic shrinked postural body,  widespread paws and plsu immobile????
