Diagnosis of human brucellosis has been a challenge for clinician, esp. in the low- and middle-income countries for many reason. First, bacteriological culture (usually blood culture) is available but it requires both skill, adequate facilities, sample transportation media to reference labs and so on. second, immuno-enzymatic tests can detect the antibodies but they have not been properly validated for human brucellosis.

Is there any simple to use, effective (with good sensitivity and specificity) diagnostic to that can be applied lower health facilities?
