Have either treated or naturally resolved serious infections in children, such as typhoid or brucellosis, been linked to chronic conditions in those children as adults.
If brucellosis and typhoid fever are treated appropriately, there will not be any sequelae. But, e.g. (and there are many more examples; poliomyelitis etc.) when a child survives cerebral malaria, cognitive deficits may remain. One form of schistosomiasis leads to later occurring bladder carcinoma, Hepatis B and C infection may lead to later liver cell carcinoma etc etc.
