National Academy of Agricultural Sciences is listed every year NAAS rating list of Journal submitted to them. If any Journal is not under the list of NAAS and having good Impact factor then we can see its importance.
For determining NAAS score of research journals, the Academy has classified them into the following two categories:-
Category I: Those journals where Thompson Reuters Impact Factor is available, the scores are assigned as 6.00 + Impact Factor with capping on 20.00.
Category II: Those journals where Thompson Reuters Impact Factor is not available, the marks are assigned on the basis of information provided by the Publishers in a proforma prescribed by the Academy.
As rightly pointed out, in NAAS rating of 2015/ 2016 some of the journals like Archives of Agronomy and Soil Science, Journal of Water and Climate change having Impact factor in Thompson Reuters was not available and I have intimated the same. However, in the current list it is available. According to my knowledge, NAAS rating correlates well with the Impact factor
