Hi, I got a new innoTECH pH meter, I read all manuals but they did not mention how much water I need to put in bottles. nor any mark on the bottle present, if anyone has an idea, bottles are small about 100ml
For pH calibration you need to use buffer pH 4 and 7 otherwise mention in the manual. Buffer solution available commercially and you can purchase and and you can also prepare in lab see buffer solution USP general monographs. Amount is sufficient when electrode probe is depth in buffer no need water to add. And for keeping pH electrode 3 M KCl solution is used.
The standards for buffer solutions are not supposed to be diluted. Use a small vessel to fit the electrode and calibrate your electrode. Do not forget to rinse, do not wipe electrode between different pHs.
Generally, we need 3 standard pH buffer solutions which are 4.01, 7.00, and 10.01 for pH meter calibration. you can directly purchase these standards. The standards for buffer solutions are not supposed to be diluted that is no need for water to be added. Rinse the probe with distilled water and calibrate it with different standards. After calibration put the probe in 3M KCl solutions always.
I know they should not be diluted therefore I asked what the heck is this I got buffered bottles with some salts in them without any water. and nothing is mentioned in manual as well as on bottles "Nothing "
