My students are having trouble with very slow growth of MCF10A's. Seeding at 1 x 106 cells per 75cm2 flask but not coming to confluency even after a week in culture. We are using exact Brugge lab media recipe and cells had been growing fine up to April. Does anyone have suggestions?

These cells are primary or immortalized lineage? The medium is supplemented with FBS? If yes, you can, in principle, increase serum supplement of 10 to 20% until the cells begin to grow normally.

Your cell seeding density is actually good for 75 cm2 flask. But the medium and FBS details is not mentioned. If you are using low FBS/FCS concentration, try increasing the concentration. try to reduce the trpsinization time also

the cells need 1 week to give only 5 million cells per T75 flask is this normal???
i am using only 5% Horse serum as recommended by ATCC
