I'm doing a CFD simulation of a commercial Ceiling Fan in a cubic room using MRF method, where i'm monitoring the torque ,volumetric flow rate. By seeing the volumetric flow rate results i'm getting a flucatuating value from -3 m3/s to -1 m3/s . what negative value means here? into the domain out of domain?
please check the volume and the properties of the material you analyse
It probably just indicates the flow direction; where do you measure the flowrate - is it the flowrate through a certain surface?
Anyway, you can check the vector fields if the flow is going in the right direction (and to check if it has a sensible magnitude). There is nothing wrong with registering a negative flowrate in principle, just make sure it's going in the direction you want it to go.
