I analyzed my ZnO samples using XRD analysis. And I got several peaks (100), (002), (101), (102), (110), (103), (200), (112), and (201). Which peak is responsible for its photo-catalytic activity the most? My sample is spherical in shape and (101) peak is the strongest, followed by (100) and (002). Prepared using ZnCl2 and NaOH by a solochemical method. Any journal or references i can use or read? Thank you.
Which XRD peak is more intense in your sample? Is it (002)?

I guess you should inform you about crystal faces.
in General spheres or rots can be obtaine. You can compare the 101 reflexes with the other ones.

In powder XRD database the 3 strongest peak is 101 (100%), 100 (54%), 002 (41%).
If u sample is thin film than the pattern is depend on the substrate and synthesis.

The diffraction peak (101) i.e dominate peak, is generally used for photocatalysis determination. I personally recommend to you follow these article:
Be advised that the full wide at half maximum FWHM is related to the shape and size of the particles.
Scherrer is a good technique to analyse the XRDs.
"Which peak is responsible for its photo-catalytic activity the most? " It depend on the wavelength of the photocatalytic corespond to the energy gap at gamma point. In order to visualize it u have to plot the electron density, or measurement if u have access to neutron scattering.
(oo2) peak is mainly dominate photo-catalytic activity. Photo-catalytic also depends on the energy gap and absorption spectrum. The absorption spectrum rage is visible range. The absorption spectrum is measured wavelength (nm) scale. 1240.5/ wavelength is the energy gap. ZnO energy gap nearly 2.5-3.25. Which is the photo-catalytic band gap.
