I've sent my synthesized 45s5 powder and a commercial 45s5 powder to XRF analysis but in both of them the amount of Na2O is about 15 percent and LOI is around 40 percent and it makes the aount of them more than 100 percent. Does anyone know why this happen and is there anyway that I can correct it?
Well, it may be that XRF is not suitable for solving the problem? There are many other methods... consult e.g. the Encyclopaedia of Analytical Chemistry. Alex

Dear Negar Shokouhnejad, If the XRF spectrometer you are using is an energy dispersive spectrometer (ED-XRF), you should verify that you detect a Na signal in the resulting spectrum. The results you get seem to indicate that your system does not detect a Na signal against the spectral background. Good Luck.
