We are working on sample delivery for x-ray protein crystallography, and we are talking about small ( order of 50um diameter) levitated water droplets that should be hit with X-ray beam ( order of 3 mW power, order of 12..14keV energy, beam diameter circa 10 um). The possibility to observe x-ray beam in air by corona imaging deep UV camera would be of great help. I wonder if anyone tried something like that before.

I have never performed such experiments.
But there are some data availble with respect to UV yield of x-ray excited air (O & N); please see for example section 2 of:

Unfortunately the yield goes down (Fig. 2) with increasing pressure. May be due to intrinsic UV absorption of the air.
