I am in the situation to provide structural calculations for low-rise solid freestanding structures (located offshore in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi), basically shelves for storing 10 m long boxes (5 metric tons each). The structure is less than 3 m high and max. 10 m long.
Currently I break my fingers with this ASCE 7 05 with refers from Pontius to Pilatus. - I also have learnt that this guideline refers to storm load as a basic wind speed.
Is there any other more intelligent or more practical offshore-applicable guide line available? Also any other advice or helpful input is highly appreciated.
Thank you in advance
Ruediger
