Sodium salt of palmitic acid is conjugated with fatty acid free BSA (6:1 molar proportions). This is further diluted in 2% FBS containing culture medium to achieve desired concentrations (0.1-1.5 mM). Cells are treated with these different concentrations of PA for 24 and 48 h. Cell viability is determined by MTT assay. There is no toxic effect of PA on cell viability even at highest concentration. What could be the reason?
