Hi,
can anyone tell me why my pushover curve isn't reaching the collapse point?? and why it is not able to complete the steps; I only get 17 steps out of 100!!
I'm using sap2000 with controlled displacement up to 1 m.

The following issues can have caused the above result:
1. Convergence issue: Here you need to change the number of null steps and enabling event-stepping.
2. If force based shear hinges is provided to the model, it might have stopped the analysis after it reached the assigned shear capacity.
There could be many reasons behind that. Here are the possible few
1) large time step
2) softening of materials
3) boundary conditions
4) analysis methods
There could be many reasons.
1) Are you conducting pushover following force control or displacement control?
2) what is your material model and how failure is defined (softening)?
3) Time step and convergence tolerance.
4) What type of elements you are you using in your model (e.g. nonlinear layered shell, multilinear springs,...…)
More information about your model is needed to be able to answer your question.

Here are the answers:
1) I'm conducting pushover analysis following controlled displacement.
2) The material model and the failure are default as in Sap2000.
3) Kindly check the attached screenshot of the solution control window from sap2000.
4) I'm using Nonlinear layered shells, beams, slabs and columns.
Maybe you can go to 'Hinge Overwrites' option and adjust that issue.
Step:
Assign> Frame > Hinge Overwrites ... and use the "Auto Subdivide" option
However, please be sure of whether you need to allow hinges to drop load or not. That can also affect your result.

By increasing the tolerance, pushover curve reaches to collapse point but every alteration in tolerance level has a significant effect on the pushover curve.
I am also facing Same problem... Please share the answer if anyone knows....
Optimise the sections of frame elements. Apply displacement to push the structure as suggested by the codes.
