Hi,

I am a young electrophysiologist, I spent this week in solving noise problems and amplifier overload. I try to patch fastspiking interneurons by using K-glutamate intracellular solution and scientifica setup. The amplifier is multiclamp 700B.

For the noise I find out that it was due to the vacuum pump but I don't what to do to fix it.

For the overload problem I tried:

- Ag/Cl wire re-chlorinating,

- reference re-chlorinating

- change all tubes, gasket

- electrode holder cleaned

- Cell model test which reveal that there is no matter with the amplifier

- I polished the pipette with a flame

So if you have other ideas to get rid of this overload, please tell me, I'll be so gratfull.
