Dear Master @Marie Mortreux, replacing HFD with their daily normal chow, count as a intervention to the study protocol; you know, HFCS simulates the sweetener of the daily routine junk food of people that selected as the factor for inducing IR (Insulin Resistance); and also, Honey has Antioxidant flavonoids that counteracts the effects of Insulin Resistance Target.
Nader Hamedchaman you’re right this an intervention, but so is giving sugar in water (at least in europe and the US). I do understand the parallel you’re trying to draw but many models are available and a quick amendment to your protocol might be the easiest change. You might also want to consider using strains of rats that display a « natural » insulin resistance if you’d like to not perform an intervention.
