I am trying to model rc beam in ansys with solid 65 for concrete and link 180 for reinforcement. I am using symmetric boundary condition, so quarter of specimen is modelled. But, when I try to run the solution for the particular load, I always get very less displacement in comparison to experimental result for the converged solution.

Note that experimental rc beam has cracked section and it's moment of inertia is much less than gross section, so it will have higher deflection in reality than simulation, unless you take cracked section into account in your simulation

I am not considering initial crack. The failure load is very small in compare to experimental one. In experimental result, the first crack is being formed at 60 kn but in my model its in around 30 KN. So, i am totally confused how to validate my model.

how about the properties you assign in the model. is it same with ur experimental one. the result in ansys must not much different with with ur experimental.

I have used nodes of concrete to model reinforcement with link element. where concrete and reinforcement both share common node. And i am applying load on nodes using symmetric BC. But how could it be possible, they don't share load ?
Is there any other way to model reinforcement except solid element ?
