The explants can be regenerated quite easily into a complete plant when they are not infected with Agrobacterium. But, once the explants are infected with Agrobacterium carrying the transgene, the regeneration process becomes difficult and time consuming. What is the reason for this. Also, what could be the changes that occur in a plant at metabolite level, hormonal level, protein level after transformation with Agrobacterium carrying transgene?
