Peak fitting of XPS data is very common, but fitting TOF-SIMS data is very rare. This seems counterintuitive since TOF-SIMS has a static resolution that can be measured at various resolved peaks, and precise peak positions as defined by weight of fragments.

I know that some folks have worked on this, but it is still very rare in the literature as compared to XPS fitting, which is much more subjective.
