Sir, Here in Bangladesh there are more frustrations than depressions. But those frustrations ultimately lead to depression as you mentioned. There is always a huge gap in expectation and reality. So these play an important factor in our country. Than, political influences, unsatisfactory job, less financial gain etc playing as also important influences.
People stay within a "shell" instead of going out to meet people, start discussions and help each other with their problems. In the past, people interacted more.
My younger sister ended up like that after a brilliant career in science. In the family we can't understand it. Her depression medication (when she takes it) makes her feel better, but she is not the same person as when young.
A variety of factors are responsible: (1) increasing demands of the world including competition, need to keep up with technology so that you are not obsoleted (2) increased isolation - the sense of community is disappearing as well as familial connections due to the strive to be independent and autonomous (3) larger population competing for limited resources with concomitant increase in pollution and health related issues (4) declining interest in constitutions of the past including religious centers of worship and marriage (5) abuse of freedoms granted by the country's constitution (6) setting unrealistic expectations and goals -- are just a few
Everyone in the world knows the laws of nature that trees can not grow into the sky. At some point, their maximum growth height is reached.
At the moment, humans do exactly the opposite.
The more animals and people live in the world, the more we breathe in and out, the more fossil fuels are wasted, the more forests are burned and cut down, the more super-rich construct insane skyscrapers, the more luxury we seek, the faster ends our world in recession and in the end in chaos. Each and every one of us can make our daily decision about where we and the world are headed. So make your decision!
In my opinion I think lack of patience is one factor, lack of knowledge, insight and mutual understanding is also a factor. In human relationships, loyalty, honesty, integrity and love is also lacking.
Neurologically, depression is causef by lack of neurotransmitters particularly dopamine, serotonin, norepinephrine....most people are likely to feel a social stigma against talking about how they actually feel & are reluctant to take professional help... issues behind rising depression may be going through major life changes( even if it is planned), restlessness, busy life schedule, changes in lifestyle & foodhabits, experiencing traumatic events
The current treatments for depression can only be used to treat the symptoms of depression, that is, conventional treatments are symptomatic. The primary cause of depression is not treated with these techniques. Therefore, we can say that the spread of depression is an uncontrollable process. The prevalence of depression may not grow, but depression will not diminish much either. The prevalence of depression is an occasional factor. At the moment, we can talk about the presence of depression in various phases of 99% of the population. That is, in the current situation, it is more true that 99% of the population has depression to varying degrees and measure the prevalence of depression depending on the severity of the depression.
Depression is rising throughout the world. Today, about 10 times more people suffer from depression than they did in 1945. And the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that more than 300 million people globally suffer from depression, which is about 4 percent of the world’s population.
The rise in depression is most likely caused by a complex mix of factors, including biological, psychological, social and environmental influences. Let’s take a look at some of the most likely causes research has shown so far.
I can say it is the results of high and unrealistic expectation, peer pressure and wrong interpretation of reality, comparison with others who are better than you.
The cause of frustration is a violation of the reward system of the brain. In the beginning, some functional impairments arise, then the brain reward system, which is associated with these functional impairments, is destroyed (some elements of the reward system are practically non-functioning). There are imbalances in neurotransmitters - a chronic deficiency of neurotransmitters. This leads to anxiety, panic, frustration. Some human functions are vital to humans and are actively supported by the reward system. If you do not fulfill some of the reference requirements of your own body, then depression occurs, since the fulfillment of certain requirements for the human body is of high importance, which is confirmed by the high degree of approval of the reward system.
The physical health of all human organs ensures the stability of the mental health of a person. There is a problem in determining the standard of physical health of each human organ and how to achieve it. The standard of physical health of a particular organ of a person and methods of achieving his health is a civilizational achievement of a person. The problem is that the health of certain human organs has a significant effect on the human psyche.
Socio-economic over-competition, due to an ego-consumerist material life-style and value system (material concerns do govern over mental health concerns=what should concern everybody concerns factually nobody).
Although there are known, effective treatments for depression, fewer than half of those affected in the world (in many countries, fewer than 10%) receive such treatments. Barriers to effective care include a lack of resources, lack of trained health-care providers, and social stigma associated with mental disorders. Another barrier to effective care is inaccurate assessment. In countries of all income levels, people who are depressed are often not correctly diagnosed, and others who do not have the disorder are too often misdiagnosed and prescribed antidepressants. That is why the burden of depression and other mental health conditions is on the rise globally.
Depression is caused by too hard work i.e., almost no time to recover. Everyone is striving for money to provide a better, more comfortable life. Overwork results in depression.
There is difference between clinical depression or chemical depression and the depression that is caused for a short time period due to some tragedy in life.Depression can cause insomnia, it makes the patients dysfunctional, isolation from social activities, marked changes in the eating habits, experiencing no enjoyment in activities that are normally associated with enjoyment for considerable period of time. I am totally agree with Anjay kumar Mishra globalization definitely added much more complexities into our life. We are facing many new uncertainties which hamper our efforts in comprehending everything around us.
Undoubtedly, we need time to process this flood of information. Yet, time is not on our side, and it certainly makes us depressed.
Dear Shaden, the rate of life became faster, so - many people can not co-operate with such a fast turns and swings - it is the very reason why they feel depressed.
Fear of losing the job, harsh competition within the company where you work with the permanent danger of outsourcing to other countries. Very often couples share only their egoism. In spite of so many ways to communicate you feel isolated and no one cares about his/her neighbour anymore.
Not all who faces the hardships of life are struck by the depression. The interaction among the factors like: Genetic vulnerability , harsh living conditions and lack of social support are likely to increase the chances of depression or other mental disorders.
Tension and high rhythm of modern life is not the primary cause of depression. Depression disrupts an adequate response to stressful events. At the first stage, functional disorders in human organs appear, this leads to disturbances in the human control system, in particular, disturbances occur in the brain's reward system. As a result, depression occurs. Depressive disorders initially arise due to internal problems in the human body, which further leads to disoriented behavior.
Erosion of values, isolation, lack of belonging, unrealistic goals, wanting to be part of the rat race - are some reasons. Changing technologies, while helping with faster access to information, are also creating the way people communicate and interact with each other in society.
Vasil Grigoriev The mentioned genetic vulnerability is not specially related to depression , it is used in more general sense that is vulnerability to brain or mind related diseases. And secondly it talks about the interaction of various factors, considering genetic cause as a separate factor. Here in our part of the world one can find many families in which mental disorders runs in families but off course the genetic factor is the not the only reason , many other factors interact to produce the effect of metal disability.Although studies are required to verify the case.
The actual cause of depression is still unknown.Scientist at best can approximate the causes of depression.Disbalance in neurotransmitters is the most accepted biological cause of depression.
More and more modern life demands more specialization and fierce competition for the conquest of any job vacancy. On the other hand, urban violence increases leaving people stressed and insecure. The association of these two factors is one of the major causes of depression, that is, the lack of strength to eliminate and get rid of, and in this way, enters this state of total apathy.
It is mostly because of the corrupted political systems which fail to create hope and happiness for their people. Additionally, dramatic advances in modern technologies have resulted in what is called hurry sickness - accomplishing more in a shorter time. This has immensely influenced family life and personal relationships leading to more stress and depression.
Dear People --- the very basic life we human are trying to live has become not difficult but complicated - in all aspects of life there are so much to consider - deliberate - and hopefully do not get confused and finally get to something for sure to decide then the most attentive part called "FEAR" comes in the whole issue to make it a possible point of act in life.
Ascertained with this way of every thing in day to day and in the long run life---Yes---- any human will TOUCH the edge of depression atleast for a few seconds in life and return back to normal.
Eventually the more often people to visit the bridge of depression --- start spending more time slowly and as time goes by starts to like depression knowingly or unknowingly. This is the TRUTH.
Every individual is unique, every case is different. Several factors seem to be linked to the onset of depression: financial struggles, chronic illness, self-image, lack of purpose and hope in life (existential), lack of skills in problem solving leading to higher stress levels that change the chemistry of the brain, nutritional deficiencies (iron, vitamin d, magnesium, etc), interpersonal conflicts, repeat unmet expectations or unrealistic expectations, negative schemas, trauma (including aces), loneliness, demands of modern life not allowing time for people to connect on a deeper level and not leaving much time for family..
Depression is not a multifactorial disease, but a mono-factorial one. The only cause of depression is an imbalance in neurotransmitters due to a disruption in the brain's reward system. Depression is not a complicated, multifactorial disease. Many factors are connected at the second stage of the development of depression, when the first stage of depression is formed. Because of this, the impression is that the depression is multifactorial. The cause of depression is the only and unique. For every person, depression starts in the same way. A common factor for all people begins to work and a person falls ill with depression.
It is possible that the increased rates of depression in adolescents is related to a combination of increased electronics use and sleep disruptions in already vulnerable individuals,
Now in the world, 99% of the population has at least the first stage of depression and at least minor manifestations of depressive disorders. You can divide the depression on the external and internal. Internal depression is a violation of the reward system of the brain, the cause of which are internal functional disorders. The cause of external depression are various types of external functional disorders. Due to the constant disregard for both internal and external functional impairment, the impression is created that depression is constantly developing. There is no rest break in which there would be no internal and external violations. In real life, a small percentage of the resulting functional impairment is eliminated. Because of this, the mythologization of depression and the aura of invincibility of depression arose. External violations reinforce internal violations. But internal violations generate depression and in the absence of external violations.
As everyone knows, there are wars in many countries such as Libya, Syria and Yemen. These wars have led to the displacement of millions of people, so there is an increase in depression.
Depression results from a complex interaction of social, psychological and biological factors. People who have gone through adverse life events (unemployment, bereavement, psychological trauma) are more likely to develop depression. Depression can, in turn, lead to more stress and dysfunction and worsen the affected person’s life situation and depression itself.
The loneliness in which many live although they live in large cities, the crisis of values of many societies, the few opportunities that many people have, can be some causes of the increase in depression in the population.
