Helicobacter pylori inhabit the gastrointestinal tract, one person’s poison may be another’s cure. Helicobacter pylori, the bacterium that causes gastric ulcers and stomach cancer in some people, may actually protect against cancer of the esophagus. So, What about your experience in the paradoxical effect of Helicobacter pylori infection? and why their resistance to treatment was increased?

The paradoxical effect of the Hp is not clearly demonstrated and the resistance has increased in parallel of the abuse of antibiotics used, specially to claritromycin
In nowadays, resistence of metronidazol is wery high, from 10 to 90%, but actually problem is increased resistence in Claritromicin, to 15%. Noncritic used of antibiotics and development of defensive mechanism of H. pylori at time, are two factors for this antibiotic resistence.
The association is incidental and epidemiological data suggests the same hence the conclusion
the association is not causal
probably H.pylori induced atrophic gastritis has low acid reflux hence low chance of Adenocarcinoma
Eating yoghurt and garlic daily have an excellent effect and response on H. Pylori to the treatment

The resistance is due to the overuse of several antibióticos used in the erradicaron of the H. pylori
The resistence is also due to previous use or noncritical use of antibiotics and for another indications. Geographic influence is very import.
