I made a Lithium sulfur cell, with Sulfur/Carbon cathode and Lithium metal anode using 100 uL of electrolyte (0.6 M LiNO3 and 0.4 M LiTFSI in DME:DOL). I am using a Biologic VSP 300 battery cycler in a galvanostatic (constant current) mode to cycle my battery.

However, when i discharge my LiS cell (Voltage range 2.8 to 1.8), the voltage drops sharply to 0.1 or -0.1V in the first cycle and stabilize at this potential.

Some Observations

1. Disassembling of the cell reveals corrosion of aluminium current collector which is an indication of lithium alloying/platting of aluminium below 0.01V.

2. The experiment has been performed twice on the same channel with same results

3. The OCV profile is also a bit noisy compare to OCV observed in other channels.

4. Similar cells cycled in other channels do not show this behavior.

I would like to ask whether its a problem in the channel? Or Something else. If Yes, would you suggest a way to fix the channels?
