Ironically, the purpose of development of nuclear energy in late 19th - early 20th centuries was a peaceful one. However, after the first nuclear reactor was developed in 1930s, next decade saw the developments of weapons based off these discoveries (in later decades, propositions of developing "peaceful atom" were also outlined, but the outcomes were quite opposite. Therefore one can not suggest if any other way to "reinforce peace through new tools" would again turn against its creator and their legacy in science.

Since many centuries, while human ingenuity has indeed been directed toward developing increasingly destructive weapons of war, there has also been a parallel stream of research, advocacy, and creative expression aimed at advancing peace in the world. Entire academic fields like peace studies and conflict resolution have emerged, dedicated to understanding the roots of conflict and developing strategies for diplomacy, mediation, and disarmament. International organizations, NGOs, and peace-building initiatives have undertaken extensive research and advocacy efforts to promote cooperation, human rights, and sustainable development as pathways to peaceful coexistence. Scientific and technological progress, though sometimes applied in warfare, has also yielded innumerable advances that improve living standards, healthcare, and communication – foundations for reducing conflicts born of deprivation. Philosophers, spiritual leaders, and artists have consistently given voice to the yearning for peace, using reason, ethics, and cultural works to unite diverse peoples. So while the specter of violent conflict has persisted, the human drive toward cultivating peace has likewise manifested across realms of inquiry, from the theoretical to the practical.

Let me quote Carl Schmitt: «A new nomos of our planet is constantly being formed. Many see it as death and destruction. Some think they are experiencing the end of the world. In reality, we are experiencing only the end of the old relationship between the Earth and the Sea. Many see only senseless chaos where in reality new meaning paves the way for a commensurate order. And in the brutal clashes of old and new forces, appropriate measures arise and meaningful proportions are formed».
