I'm a fried that, you applied the cell voltage 1.2-1.8V within the range of anodic polarization passive region. However, the anodic polarization of passive metals shows a different behavior. At low potentials, the corrosion rate measured by anodic current density are high and increase with increasing potential in the active state. Above the primary passive potential Epp, the passive film start building up and becomes protective and stable , leading the corrosion rate decreases significantly. In this case, the passive current density ipass can be up to 106 times lower than icrit. So,the current density you got in magnitude of 10 X10-5 A/cm2 could represent passive current density rather than active current density.
