The behavior of the frame when coupled with a SW is different from its behavior individually. To understand the difference you need to observe the deformed shape of both the frame and the SW individually and then interpret the deformed shape of the coupled system as a combination of those of both systems separately. You can then identify which parts of the frame will be subject to increased/decreased deformations when being coupled with the SWs.

I am studying the the performance and efficiency of shear walls as a seismic retrofitting technique for existing structures.

I've done Time history analysis and response spectrum analysis.

Now I am trying to carry out pushover analysis to study how this technique is useful.

Can you tell me what kind of measure should I take to assess the performance of retrofitting frame to show that shear walls technique is helpful and prvide less damage to structures.

It is a very interested question

The seismic performance can be assessed in terms of some typical measures adopted in many design codes like the inter-story drift. Concerning the damage, it can be assessed in terms of the number of plastic hinges developed in the system. From the attached figure, I can say you've performed the pushover analysis for a very limited time/targeted displacement, given that no plastic hinges (the red ones) have developed in either of them.

Also, I think a topic like that must have been extensively addressed in the literature. So, you might need to read some papers on it and see the methodologies employed and build on them.
