Why does shear stress (Sxy) result in ANSYS APDL area element type solid 182 or 183 quadrilateral or triangle will be different in a cantilever beam with point load at fixed end or uniform load at distance x=0 means in fixed support while in elementary theory/ calculation hand gave me a result but efferent than ANSYS?
Finite element analysis means by definition discontinuous interpolation through nodes, hence point load does not distribute as continuous load through the mesh, hence does neither provide similar results as theory which is continuous.
I am sure that you can apply the boundary conditions for displacements on the hole left boundary in such a way that the shear stresses disappear. For example, fix all nodes on the left line of the rectangle in two directions (vertical and horizontal). Your rectangle is most likely fix only at one midpoint on the left. In this case, this is an elementary mistake of a novice user.
