I used 'Porcinetrace ELISA Kit - Gelatin' (basically the kit is used to detect the presence of porcine DNA) and I tested this on bovine skin gelatin with high gel bloom (strength) - it shows false positive results. Tried it few more times and the results sometimes show false positive and negative results. However, the analysis displays negative results on bovine skin gelatin with low gel bloom. Anyone have any idea why high gel bloom of bovine skin gelatin give false positive results - despite it not containing any trace of porcine DNA?
