I am trying to compare the effectiveness of shear walls in RC building.
I modeled the building on SAP2000 to make it as a reference.
I copied the model to another folder then I modeled the shear walls
But when I compare the results, displacements without shear walls are smaller than the model with shear wall, that only for first 3 mode shapes ( They are 7 modes)
Any Idea? Please

Make sure the walls are rigidly connected to the story. Assign rigid diaphragms for esch story.
The walls are not properly connected to the foundations. They must be fixed and then meshing needs to be done. If the forces are not applied then the modal ampitude due to free vibration can be larger than the building without shear walls. However, if you apply any earthquake then see the spectral displacement, in some of the earthquakes the spectral displacement will be larger at lower time period, such behaviour you can see in Loma earthquake.
