Except LAM test (HIV+TB), no commercial diagnostic kit available. Mtb DNA very low in urine, can metabolic markers or biomolecules be detected in active and latent tb patients which are absent in normal healthy individuals?
due to low bacterial count in urine sample, it becomes very difficult to detect tb from urine samples using conventional means. molecular methods can be used to detect but currently standardized kits are not available for detection as they have a defined limit of detection and often this limit is not satisfied when urine sample is used. biomarkers and biomolecules detection is useful but again to detect them in urine further testing and standardization is required to generalize this procedure.
