A tissue-specific Knockout mouse defines a conditional biological model in which a target gene can be specifically inactivated in specific tissue(s); in all other tissues, the target gene exhibits a functional expression.
An inducible Knockout mouse defines a conditional biological model in which the target gene of interest can be specifically inactivated at a given time point. Before induction, the gene of interest is functionally expressed. Inactivation can be engineered in all cells of the body or in a tissue-specific manner.
