Dear all, I’m dealing with electrospinning of gelatin in acetic acid. I have a problem where I observe little fibers attached to the syringe tip during electrospinning, while the jet still forms. Has anyone encountered the same problem? I would like to know your insights on this.

How many percent acetic acid solution do you use? I've had the same problem for acetic acid, but for another polymer. I solved the problem by using other solvent. I think you should switch to another solvent system, and if you still have the same problem, you should focus on the concentration of the solution.

Thank you for sharing. Currently I am using 90% acetic acid(AA) in aqueous. Concentration of gelatin was at 16% w/v to 90% AA. However, I have seen a few demonstrations of electrospinning on youtube and it seems to he a common occurrence. I am not too sure if it would affect the properties of the fibers produced, but I will keep you posted!
