Professor Madjid Samii was born in 19 June 1937 in Tehran, Iran and was grown in a scientific family. After finishing his high school education in Iran, he moved to Germany and started his medical study at University of Mainz. Regarding his achievements during his medical study and his final university scores as receiving the highest achievable score in the final medical examination, he received the prize of Iranian Science Ministry for the best Iranian students in Europe. After graduation from the medical school and finishing a secondary study in biology, he started his specialty education in the field of neurosurgery in the University of Mainz and received his board of neurosurgery in 1970.
In April 1970 and in the age of 32, he started his career as associate professor and vice director of neurosurgical department at university of Mainz. One year later, in 1971, he became the professor of neurosurgery. In this year he received an offer from the “National University” of Iran to become professor and chairman of neurosurgical department. He refused such an important position in order to continue his scientific career in the University of Mainz. In 1977 he became the Chairman of Neurosurgical Department in Hannover, Germany (Nordstadt Hospital); a position that he possessed till 2003. After several calls for the chair of neurosurgery from universities of Leiden (Netherland) and Mainz (Germany), he finally accepted the chair of neurosurgery in Hannover School of Medicine (MHH), Germany in 1988. Since 1996, he acted as the chairman of both Neurosurgical Departments in Nordstadt Hospital and Hannover School of Medicine. In 2000, Professor Samii founded the International Neuroscience Institute (INI) in Hannover and was nominated as its President. In 2003 he was retired from the chairs of Neurosurgical Departments in Nordstadt Hospital and Hannover School of Medicine and devoted himself to further development of International Neuroscience Institute. In 2004, Professor Samii also accepted the presidency of China International Neuroscience Institute at the Capital Medical University in Beijing, China. In 2010 “Iran International Neuroscience Institute” in Tehran has been planned and the construction procedure has been started. Professor Madjid Samii is founder and president of Iran INI, which will be inaugurated in near future.
A major aspect of Professor Samii’s scientific career was his devotion to education and enhancement of neurosurgery. From the beginning of his career as the professor of neurosurgery, he put a major emphasis on education of neurosurgeons from all over the world. He held regular annual or biannual courses in microneurosurgery in the University of Mainz since 1971. In 1979, Professor Samii established the world’s first educational course in skull base surgery in Hannover. Aside from his regular courses in Germany, he started to plan similar educational courses in many countries all over the world to enhance the knowledge of neurosurgery. In 2004, as the president of INI-China, he organized a permanent annual international course in clinical neurosurgery. Also in 2004 the directory board of Iranian social security organization has offered Professor Samii the chairmanship of neurosurgical department in Milad hospital in Tehran. Under his leadership, a very strong educational program for the staff has been planned and performed. The department is now one of the most developed neurosurgical centers. Since 2006 professor Samii established continues international neurosurgical symposiums in Tehran under his direction.
Professor Madjid Samii was the founding president and founding member of several national and international foundations and societies. During his scientific life, Professor Samii received many honorary professorships, honorary doctorates and visiting professorships from all over the world. Has has also given many honorary and memorial lectures. Professor Samii is honorary member of many national academies of medical science and national, international and continental societies of neurosurgery. He has received several prestigious national and international awards, honors and medals. He was also guest of honor in many neurosurgical meetings and had given more than 1000 lectures as special and invited lecturer in international congresses.
After being elected as the president of German society of neurosurgery, German society of skull base surgery, International skull base society, international skull base study group and German society of plastic and reconstructive surgery, he was elected as the president of the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS) from 1997 to 2001. Since 2001 he acted as the honorary president of WFNS and honorary president of WFNS foundation.
In 2011 WFNS has appointed Professor Madjid Samii as ambassador for Africa. He has created in this position the project of “Africa 100”.
Professor Samii is Editor, member of editorial board and honorary editor of many medical journals. He has ever published 17 books in the field of neurosurgery. His scientific works are also published in more than 500 scientific articles.
One of the most important achievements of professor Samii is education of more than a thousand neurosurgeons around the world. Most of these neurosurgeons are in leading positions in their countries. In 2002, his pupils and friends founded an international neurosurgical society under the name of “Madjid Samii Congress of International Neurosurgeons (MASCIN)” which was later changed its name to “Madjis Samii Society of International Neurosurgeons (MASSIN)”.
In 2011 the World Federation Of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS) in an unprecedented action named its medal of honor after Professor Madjid Samii. The “Madjid Samii Medal of Honor” will be awarded every two years along with a prize of 10000 euros to the most prominent neurosurgeon world wide and is a high honor for the recipient. The first medal and prize ceremony was held in 2011 in Brazil along with the WFNS meeting and the winner was Maurice Chox, the professor of Marseille university in France.
Professor Samii married to Mahshid Samii since 1961 and has two children. His daughter, Amireh Samii, studied economy and his son, Professor Amir Samii, is a famous professor of neurosurgery and currently acts as the vice-director of the neurosurgical center at INI-Hannover.

Muhammad ibn Zakariya al-Razi
Abū Bakr Muhammad ibn Zakariyyā al-Rāzī (Persian: ابوبكر محمّد زکرياى رازى, translit. nastaliq Abūbakr-e Mohammad-e Zakariyyā-ye Rāzī, also known by his Latinized name Rhazes or Rasis) (854 CE – 925 CE), was a Persian polymath, physician, alchemist, philosopher, and important figure in the history of medicine.
A comprehensive thinker, Razi made fundamental and enduring contributions to various fields, which he recorded in over 200 manuscripts, and is particularly remembered for numerous advances in medicine through his observationsand discoveries. An early proponent of experimental medicine, he became a successful doctor, and served as chief physician of Baghdad and Rey hospitals. As a teacher of medicine, he attracted students of all backgrounds and interests and was said to be compassionate and devoted to the service of his patients, whether rich or poor.
He was among the first to use humorism to distinguish one contagious disease from another,[citation needed] and wrote a pioneering book about smallpox and measles providing clinical characterization of the diseases. He also discovered numerous compounds and chemicals including Alcohol, kerosene, among others.
Through translation, his medical works and ideas became known among medieval European practitioners and profoundly influenced medical education in the Latin West. Some volumes of his work Al-Mansuri, namely "On Surgery" and "A General Book on Therapy", became part of the medical curriculum in Western universities. Edward Granville Browne considers him as "probably the greatest and most original of all the Muslim physicians, and one of the most prolific as an author". and has been described as a doctor's doctor, the father of pediatrics, and a pioneer of ophthalmology.

Mahmoud Hessabi (Persian: سید محمود حسابی, February 23, 1903, Tehran – September 3, 1992, Geneva) was an Iranian scientist, researcher and professor of University of Tehran. During the congress on "60 years of physics in Iran" the services rendered by him were deeply appreciated and he was called "the father of modern physics in Iran".
Hessabi was born in Tehran to Abbas and Goharshad Hessaby. When he was seven, the family moved from Iran to Beirut in Lebanon where he attended school.
At seventeen he obtained his Bachelor's in Arts and Sciences from the American University of Beirut. Later he obtained his B.A. in civil engineering while working as a draftsman. He continued his studies and graduated from Engineering school of Beirut.
Hessabi was admitted to the École Superieure d'Electricité, one of France's top engineering schools, and in 1925 graduated while he was employed by the SNCF (French National Railway). He started working in the electric locomotive maintenance department. He was a scientific mind and continued his research in Physics at the SorbonneUniversity and obtained his Ph.D. in Physics from that University at the age of twenty-five.
Dr Hessabi was a Polymath, with five bachelor's degrees in literature, civil engineering, mathematics, electrical engineering and mining engineering. He continued lecturing at University of Tehran for three working generations, teaching seven generations of students and professors.
In 1947, he published his classic paper on "Continuous particles". Following this, in 1957 he proposed his model of "Infinitely extended particles".
As Hessabi wished, he was buried in his hometown, Tafresh.
Prof. Mahmoud Hessabi was fluent in five living languages: Persian, French, English, German and Arabic. He was also familiar with Sanskrit, Latin, Greek, Pahlavi, Avestan, Turkish and Italian, which he used for etymological studies.

* Born in Luján, Buenos Aires, Argentina and died in La Plata. It was the first great figure of the Argentina national science.
* It was a naturalist, climatologist, paleontologist and anthropologist. It was a school teacher and became director of the Municipal School of Mercedes, in the province of Buenos Aires.
* It was an autodidact, who had ignored the scientific prestige of the country without more forces than its formidable tenacity and the support of his younger brother Carlos, and without more funding than the meager funds obtained from a library, a business that handled for years in the Plata, the city where he died on August 6, 1911.

* Born in Buenos Aires on May 31, 1852, son of Francisco and Juana Facundo Thwaites, had three younger brothers (Joshua, Eduardo and Maruja) and an older sister (Joan).
* He was a scientist, naturalist, botanist and Argentine explorer.
* In 1871 he collected fossils in Vitel Lagoon. In 1872 he founded, in collaboration with a group of engineers, the Scientific Society Argentina.
* Treaty bordering Chile: The Treaty of 20 August 1881 established as border summits that were watersheds, but the actual demarcation of the border was subject to the arbitration award from the British government. In 1897, Moreno returned to Patagonia officially designated as an expert in the boundary dispute with Chile. In a few months his work prepared Moreno Argentine-Chilean border, in setting out a synthesis of the geography of Argentina's borders, and in 1896 traveled to London to facilitate the award of Queen Victoria and present an exhibition on the conflict.

* He completed his secondary education in the United States at the Jesuit College of St. Mary of Maryland. In 1862 he graduated as a surveyor at the Topographical Department of Buenos Aires. In 1865 he belonged to the first class to enter the Department of Exact Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), the embryo of the Faculty of Engineering, created this year by the rector Juan Maria Gutierrez.
* Huergo carried out projects related to the consolidation of Argentina as a nation engineering, channeling the Third, Fourth and Fifth rivers to increase the flow of Salado, the Pacific Railroad Buenos Aires to Villa Mercedes (a stretch), and port San Fernando with graving dock that was the first built in the country.
Ramón Enrique Gaviola:
(1900 - 1989)
* He was born and died in the city of Mendoza, Argentina. Gaviola was an outstanding scientist who contributed important discoveries in physics and astronomy world.
* The work of Enrique Gaviola in astrophysics, technically revolutionary, were fundamental to the science Argentina.
* Received of surveyor in the city of La Plata, on the recommendation of Richard Gans, to continue his training as a physicist in Germany, where he arrived in 1922 and studied with the top scientists of the time, including Max Planck, Max Born and Albert Einstein. The latter would consider him as a colleague and friend who used to consult (as in 1948 when asked for his adherence to the Chicago Manifesto warned of the dangers of using nuclear energy).
José Antonio Balseiro:
(1919 - 1962)
* It was an important Argentine physicist.
* Balseiro studied at the National University of Córdoba before moving to La Plata to study and research, obtaining a doctorate in physics from the National University of La Plata. His thesis was directed by Guido Beck, Austrian physicist who came to Argentina, refugee, in 1943. In 1950 Balseiro obtained a scholarship from the British Council. Because of the meager stipend, his wife and daughter had to remain in Argentina as he did postdoctoral research at the University of Manchester, in a group led by Leon Rosenfeld.
* The Argentine government asked him to return to Argentina in 1952, a few months before the end of the scholarship, to independently audit as a member of a committee of scientists the Huemul Project, as the Peronist government was suspicious of the technical quality of such Draft. That secret project aimed to generate energy by nuclear fusion. He was in charge of Ronald Richter. Technical, very concise, signed reports Balseiro, Mario Báncora and other members of the commission finally convinced that the Huemul Project Peron had no scientific merit. Consequently the Huemul Project was dismantled. Balseiro remained in Argentina and was appointed head of the Physics Department of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires.
* In 1955, using part of what were the facilities of the Huemul Project, the National Atomic Energy Commission created the Institute of Physics of Bariloche. Balseiro played an important role in the creation of the institute and was its first director.

* It was an Argentine scientist considered by many as the father of computing Argentina. Clementina computer brought to the country, and was the creator of the race of Computer Science. He was exiled during the military dictatorship and returned to the country to be Secretary of Science and Technology of the government of Raul Ricardo Alfonsin.
* He graduated as Doctor of Physics and Mathematics at the University of Buenos Aires in 1940. He completed his studies at the Poincaré Institute in Paris in 1946 and 1947, a grant from the French government.
* In 1960 he organized the Institute of Calculation of the University, bringing the country's first computer in a Latin American university, Clementina, with the support of Bernardo Houssay and Eduardo Braun Menendez.
* He must first leave school after the Night of the Long Canes. * Interested in the philosophy of physics, Bunge began his studies at the National University of La Plata, graduating with a doctorate in physical-mathematical sciences in 1952. The subject of his doctoral thesis was on Kinematics of the relativistic electron.
* Perhaps his most important work are the eight volumes of his philosophical treatise (Treatise on Basic Philosophy), but it is an enormously prolific author who, after exposing their general positions in the Treaty, has been publishing regular applications his philosophy to science and technology, natural and social (see below in Messages Publications).
* Mario Bunge was he honored with sixteen honorary doctorates awarded by institutions such as the University of Salamanca (Spain) in 2003, the National University of La Plata (Argentina) and the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina) in 2008. He also received the Award prince of Asturias in 1982.

* It was an Argentine physician and biochemist who received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1970.
* His most relevant research, and for which he received the distinction awarded him international fame, focuses on sugar nucleotides, and the role they play in making carbohydrates. After its discovery was able to understand the details finished form of congenital disease galactosemia.
* Study anatomy, but Leloir decided to pursue laboratory research. In 1933 he met Bernardo A. Houssay, who led his doctoral thesis on the adrenal glands and the metabolism of carbohydrates.

* Milstein returned to Argentina in 1961 to take charge of the Division of Molecular Biology of the National Institute of Microbiology, but it was only a year in office to return to England after the military coup of 1962.
* In 1983, Milstein was named head and director of the Division of Chemistry, Protein and Nucleic Acids of the University of Cambridge. For his work on the development of monoclonal antibodies obtained the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1984.
* He died on March 24, 2002 in Cambridge, England, victim of a heart condition, at 74 years old.

* Thoracic surgeon was an Argentine doctor who performed the first coronary bypass graft in the world.
* He studied medicine at the University of La Plata, in turn read current medical literature and started having interest in thoracic surgery. In the late 60s he began studying a technique for using the saphenous vein in coronary surgery and founded in the early '70s the foundation that bears his name.
* He served in the Conadep led television programs dedicated to medicine and wrote books.
* Favaloro was updated with medical journals and conducted training courses in La Plata. He became interested in cardiovascular interventions, which at that time were beginning to develop, and thoracic surgery. * For 2000, Argentina was already submerged in an economic and political crisis and the Favaloro Foundation was in debt at about US $ 75 million so Favaloro asked aid to the government without receiving an official response. Zaha Mohammad Hadid, 31 October 1950 – 31 March 2016) was an Iraqi-born British architect. She was the first Arab woman who received the Pritzker Architecture Prize, winning it in 2004. She received the Stirling Prize in 2010 and 2011. In 2012, she was created a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire and in 2015 she became the first woman to be awarded the RIBA Gold Medal in her own right.
Hadid liberated architectural geometry with the creation of highly expressive, sweeping fluid forms of multiple perspective points and fragmented geometry that evoke the chaos and flux of modern life. A pioneer of parametricism, and an icon of neo-futurism, with a formidable personality, her acclaimed work and ground-breaking forms include the aquatic center for the London 2012 Olympics, the Broad Art Museum in the U.S., and the Guangzhou Opera House in China.
On 31 March 2016, Hadid died of a heart attack in a Miami hospital, where she was being treated for bronchitis.
