Someone has information about dependence of storage time from temperature for lyophilized cultures. I see in several publication 4oC is better temperature, so it's not need to use -70oC freezer to keep them?
I agree with Jaysankar De. Lyophilised cultures can be stored under refridgeration temperatures between 4^0C to 10^0C.In order to carry out lyophilisation temperature of -70^0C is required.
ATCC distributes lyophilized cultures at 4oC and recommends storage at 4oC. If your refrigerator has temperature spikes that are higher than 4oC, that would be a reason to keep them in the freezer instead.
I have no experience with storing lyophilized cultures, but one can store lyophilized proteins even at room temperature. More important is the humidity. Thus definitely do not put them at -70°C, you can keep them at +4°C, but make sure it's not too humid in there.
