Hello,
I am culturing HepAD38 and I've started to notice these white spots present on the cells. The media is still clear and the cells don't seem to be dying rapidly. The spots are visible by the naked eye and a couple of them are floating around in the media which makes me think they are easily detachable. We have thrown away all the flasks that were in culture as well as the medias that were being used (DMEM F:12) but I was curious as to what these spots could be? They did not look like typical fungi contamination.
I've attached a picture taken with the microscope. The black round masses are what I'm referring to.
