Hi there! I've used transfection reagents for different experiments over the years, and I'm curious if there's a reasoning to use JetPrime vs PEI vs Lipofectamine? Do any of a particular benefit vs others?
It depends upon the nature of the cells. Most cells respond using Calcium... You may choose electroporation too...it works for almost every cell line
1. The ability of transfection reagent to transfect the different components into the different cells. The choice majorly depends on the types of cells, culture methods, and the components (siRNA, shRNA, miRNA, plasmid, mRNA, etc.).
2. Their capacity to cause Cytotoxicity. Less cytotoxic more benefit.
3. Transfection efficiency one over the other.
4. Some cost varies.
It depends on the cell type you going to transfect too.. I previously used lipofectamine. It works well.
