Not sure I understand. Do you have two different groups of people and these groups took different surveys so different variables? If so, what are you comparing? Is your research question: did group A score different on measure X than group B scored on measure Y? Usually you would want to have the same instrument used to measure both groups.
and not for measurement of relationships. T. test may do what you want to do. However if your data are normally distributed , you had better use regression analysis for your measurement of relationships and Anova for comparison. Anova reqiuires an interval dependent variable and categorical independent variables. T distribution is not quite a normal distribution. It only an approximate.
