I am trying to create a 3D model using GIS. I am trying different sources, but I still thought of asking for suggestions. Even small suggestions will be helpful for me. Thanks in advance!
1. If you have a Digital Elevation Model (DEM) of the area in question (or access to one), you can use a GIS software such as ArcGIS or QGIS to visualize the DEM data in 3D. Various plug-ins and extensions may be available to assist in this task.
2. If you have access to airborne LiDAR or other point cloud data, you can use a variety of GIS software to create 3D models from this data.
3. If you don’t have the data available, but are willing to invest some time, you may be able to create a 3D model from submitted photographs using a software such as Agisoft Photoscan.
4. If you'd rather just use existing data and not build a model from scratch, you can also leverage sources such as OpenStreetMap to build models from their 3D building data.
5. Additionally, newer GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro and QGIS 3+ have the ability to directly import geospatial data from Openstreetmap and a variety of other sources into a 3D model.
