Kindly assist to identify these two pathogens isolated from avocado and African cherry leaves respectively and cultured on Malt Extract Agar. It is slimy and has a very strong smell.
To identify those fungus you need to do as Paul Reed Hepperly says. The 2nd picture expresses the opposite side of petriplate which is not way to identify a pathogen..
It is difficult to identify pathogen on morpho-cultural basis except known. Fusarium is generally root pathogen but now a days it infects leaves. It is better to do ITS and EF 1 to reached at 100% identity.
The colony appearance is not enough indicator for identification.
The microscopic image is not clear enough to identify the fungus. You must prepare clear images showing the structures which the fungus produces like spores, conidiophores, hyphae etc.
When you prepare a slide of any fungus, you must obtain a clear slide showing the mycelium to see if it be septate or non septate (coenocytic), conidia to see if they have one cell, two cells or more, conidiophore if it be single, branched, straight or flexuous. Also you must see the conidiogenous cells and any other structures to make a clear imagine for the tested fungus.
