I have a multivariate dataset of traits for certain individuals that I have plotted in PCA space. I want some way to test whether or not the points within the PCA plot have a random distribution or whether they show significant 'clumping'. I have done hierarchical clustering analysis but this doesn't quite tell me the same thing. Effectively I want to know if the distribution in the space is non-random.
