Dear Researchers,

While running UV calculations with Gaussian 09, sometimes it gives Excited state 1, Excited state 2,... and so on. But experimentally what I observe is a single absorption wavelength. How to correlate in this situation. Kindly suggest me how to identify the correct excited state to obtain the absoprtion wavelength and also how can I predict the energy transfer mechanism from the Gaussian output.
