I'm planning to perform epigenetic study on offspring born following Assisted Reproductive Technologies. I do not have an extensive experience on mouse model and I know that some strains are not so good for this kind of study. thus, which one should I use?

I would contact the scientific assistant of the company providing your mice because it is a crucial choice and very few scientists have a good overview.
Depending of the field of interest (immunology, aging, obesity) standard background is different. Do you need inbreed line (very robust but might lead to very specific particularities such as bad breeder, developing tumors or diabetics...) or not inbreed lines? Do you want to use later genetically modified mice? In this case you should try to stick to their background because it take years to change background of a transgenic animal.
Moreover, you speak about epigenetic, I do not know which experiments you plan, but for example if you want to make the early maternal separation protocol I would take care to fit to the background used in this field, or at least taking a background.

Thank you for your answer. I was thinking about an inbreed strain, no transgenic or modified. My first idea was to use B6 mice, then I have start to think that if we want to do some allele specific analysis (maternal or paternal), it will be better to use some inbreed F1 (ie B6/DBA). I'm studying published paper on this topic as it is quite new for me.
