Hi,,, I have three factors and three levels to do optimization in RSM. In design expert software, which model would be the suitable one between CCD and BOX?
To prepare the design with repetition, which point need to take in consideration? Axis or factorial?

Dear Mansura,
The number of experiments is generally more in CCD compared to BBD. The CCD design considers the points outside your minimum and maximum range, but in BBD design all the points are within your predetermined range. Therefore, your levels will be 5 for CCD, while 3 for BBD and less accurate for the beginning and end points. If the out-of-range test is not possible due to the limitations, then you may select BBD. Otherwise, you can use CCD with more levels and more experiments.
The repetitions are related to the center points. For example, when you select a central composite design for 3 factors, 6 center points will be considered that they are the repetitions to determine the pure error. These are not axial or factorial points.
