Can +3 cations form tartrate complexes?
Hi, Sonal!
Here is at least one publication with a cerium tartrate structure. I am sure there are more trivalent metal ions that form such complexes.
Regards,
Daniel
Many transition metal ions can form stable complexes with tartarate as bidentate ligand. The most well known complex is the Fehling's solution, the complex of tartarate with copper (II). It can be easily made and an interesting complex.
Cobalt and Iron form complexes with tartrate ion.
Looking for a research topic that involves the implications of climate change and illegal wildlife trade.
