This is a matter of question for me that if we want to screen the cell response to a treatment in a short time, what cells are suitable? I am talking about plant cell lines. However, it might be similar in animal cells too. I mean whether fast growing cells show better response or slow growing?
Please share any information and literature related.

Hi, Mahbobeh, you asked very interesting question indeed! Which cell lines do you mean? And what does it mean fast and slow growth lines? If you use treatment of the same line during different stage of development, response will be different, of course! They may even have a different mechanism. That's why one can not give simple answer what is better..Please, also take into account that cell lines in many cases lose adaptive response to the treatment to compare with plants.

Thanks Dear Taras for your explanation. Indeed, I am studying BY-2 (nicotiana tobacco-bright yellow cultivar) cell lines which multiplied by100 within a week. So, they grow fast. I am applying abiotic stress and a treatment on them, expecting that treatment helps them grow better than control in stressful situation. However, I see they grow just like control. I don't know maybe they are not gonna respond. So, I was thinking probably one option can be choosing another slower growing cell line. This way in stead of one week , cells have more time to grow and perhaps respond. I thought it's possible that the rate of BY-2 growth could let them pass any changes in environment in order to not effected.

Hi, Mahbobeh,, BY2 is definely not good object for investigation you want to preform, This line have a comoplete de-regulate hormkinal balance and BY2 growth almost with maximal possible speed. So, you can not accelerate it more! One of the possiblity to get some results with BY2 is to reduce hormones contents in the medium during re-freshing. But, anyway, hormanl balance in BY2 is totally de-regulated and this lne does not respond as plants. You can use tobacco protoplasts for your aim.
