I've been researching these kits for a while now, and it seems like the legacy kit (the mini kit) remains more popular than the pro kit despite claims of the latter bieng better with secondary metabolites and having higher yields with certain challenging taxa (though the binding capacity of the columns are also much lower). I would like to know weather it's worth forking out the extra money for the more expensive kit (pro) , what to factor in when making this type of decision and which is better when you are expected to extract at least 50ul of clean, high molecular weight DNA from silica dried mature leaf tissue at a minimum concentration of 20ng/ul.
