I am cultivating bacteria from oil-contaminated soils and I have a problem with fungi growing on my plates. All the reagents and equipment I use are sterile and I wonder which fungicide is the best and at which concentration?
I suggest to add Cycloheximide to your media for bacterial colture. It is active only on eukaryotic cells its effect is interfering with the translocation step in protein synthesis. So it should work.
You can use Cycloheximide, but is more toxic. I recomaned Natamycin (INN), also known as pimaricin, is a naturally occurring antifungal agent produced by S. natalensis
