Which experimental layout (CRD, RCBD) is the best one for petridish experiments?

Which design should be followed in field experiment and in lab bio assays

RCBD is conducted when you have an intervening variable and you are not interested in it. For example when a part of experiment recieves more light (heat , etc) you have to separate it as a block. In lab experiments you rarely need blocking.
