Hi, Can anyne suggest which is best counter ion (acetate/formate) to replace TFA after peptide synthesis when one has to work on cells and toxicity of TFA is a concern?
I didn't try chloride salt. I am trying to figure out which salt would have least effect on cytotoxicity. I assume TFA and HCL might affect toxicity so thought of chosing among acetate salt. I am also considering Endotoxin free peptide.
I believe Chloride as a counterion will not exhibit toxicity in the cells, if you think about it, it is all around in the cells from isotonic NaCl solution.

Acetate is better choice among the two. In my case, I have replaced TFA with chloride and bistriflamide. But I don't know much about the cytotoxicity perspective.
