Which channel model, for example fading channel, is good for simulating ultra wide band (UWB) channel? Could you please provide some links or tutorials?
My personal issue with these models is that they predict far too many multipath components which appear in measurements as a manifestation of the antenna and bandpass nature of the measurements.
The measurements detect the antenna impulse response and incorrectly assume it represents multiple independent rays whereas it is only one ray.

Thus when I model UWB channels, I use the same model but withn cluster I use only a single poisson distribution instead of the double poisson and I choose the longer arrival rate - e.g. 6.67 ns (=1/0.15) for the office. (the double poission is explained well in http://grouper.ieee.org/groups/802/15/pub/04/15-04-0662-02-004a-channel-model-final-report-r1.pdf)
Note: I have seen some people trying to use algorithms like CLEAN to fitler out the antenna impulse response the problem is that as I show in the first paper (http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/articleDetails.jsp?tp=&arnumber=5666234) the antenna impulse response changes for different AoA ... so you do not really have a single template and it differs for different rays so the output of CLEAN like algorithms make mistakes and also overestimate the number of multipath components because a single ray with different antenna impulse response (e.g. for higher elevation angle) is represented as multiple rays so that the superposition of the template matches the different antenna impulse response.
