Can anybody give me suggestions for 3D printers that should be suitable to print protein models? I'm especially looking for a printer that could print for example a protein with a ligand and both should have different colours.
The less pricy the better :-).
ZCorp 3D color printer could be useful. I used ZCorp printer for printing soft tissue facial prostheses using starch powder and a colored binder, usually, starch, plaster and cellulose are used to print soft and hard structures. I am not sure if a protein powder could be ordered and it is possible to be manufactured by ZCorp for you or not you should contact the company.

and I will soon publish the process for geometrical integration of 3 D paper printing, So if your input material is also a semi-liquid, I can help you use the same machine to print your material, it also contains more than one nozzle to print more that one input materials, so you can print more different materials in the same time.

I actually don't know which material would be the best. The protein model should be stable so that it won't deform when I touch it, but it doesn't have to be very rigid necessarily. I was thinking of some kind of plastic but maybe you have better suggestions?
