Not all teacher would be a good researchers and applies vice versa. Some would be very good on research and teaching and I feel this would be a gifted person. Teachers are very much needed to make us understand the basics , why's and why not's , researchers build on this (like an extension)

In the field of research - there is no doubt in my opinion - research experience is more important. The same is in the field of teaching - more important is teaching experience.

Research is fundamentally different from teacher, requiring different skills-concentration, inquisitiveness, persistence. A teacher learns how to communicate what others have diligently researched.

I think both can do good researches.

First, the effectiveness of successive teachers was related to student achievement in reading and math. Second, collective teacher effectiveness, as an organizational property of schools, was positively associated with achievement levels. Third, the stability of the school's teaching staff and the quality of its academic organization and teaching processes were positively related to achievement levels.

In the field of research, I expect the experienced researcher to be better

One reinforces the other. Researchers involved in cutting-edge research can pass along the most updated knowledge to their students. Otherwise, the knowledge that publishes in books is outdated, on the average by 5 years. The collaborative research with the industry leaders make them much better teachers. Good teachers use their students as a sounding board and are able to develop most relevant and realistic research questions.

Expected researchers are generally good teachers as well. The reverse may not be true.

A good teachers makes research work understandable to students while researchers aim to solve problems in given field. Research findings at sometimes become complicated for students so teachers simplify them.

Teaching and researching have a symbiotic relationship. By conducting research, teachers can put the theories related to their field into practice and evaluate their real worth. Besides, teachers who adhere to the principles of critical thinking would benefit from doing research .

Teachers and researchers are different professions, therefore they can not be comparred. A car ia not better than a pen, if what you need it to write an S.O.S message.

I have never forget my anatomy professor Dr. Sami Zan. He was a fantastic teacher and his lecture theather was filled up by students from even year 3,4, 5 year students ( anatomy was on 2nd year program in my uni.)

He has gantastic teaching skills , quite knowledgable and he was able to deliver it like a stand-up stagers, very dinamic in manner. I remind him all the time and very grateful for his efforts. Allah bless him (RIP).

I can remember a number of my teachers who were clearly great researchers in their fields,but did not have the skills of a teacher,in being able to impart that knowledge to many of us.

To find someone who is not only a great researcher,but also a superb teacher is a very rare thing,and at this late stage in my own career,I am fortunate enough to work with a neurointerventional professor who has both in abundance.

So yes,they are different skills,but not exclusive.

Not an experienced researcher and a good teacher. You need to have many more qualities to be a good teacher.

Although both are academic positions yet very different in approach. It is not necessary that a good researcher is also a good teacher. Teaching is art. Research is creative application of science and engineering.

Whether an experienced researcher is better than an an experienced teacher in the field of Research- when there is question of research- field of research plays very important role if experience researcher and experienced teacher both are from same field( which is research field) then I prefer experienced researcher, but when I want to share in theory class I prefer experienced teacher

There are people who have the qualities that make them perfect teachers - attractive, good communication skills, good knowledge of the subject they teach, can attract the attention of the learners and fully control the audience, that is, they are just good. There are people who have the perfect qualities required for a researcher - logical and analytical thinking, the ability to understand the details, the ability to discover the invisible to the ordinary person, that is, they are just good. There is, however, a third category of people who are collecting the first two categories. The latter are the ideal model to be a good teacher and researcher.

To me research to be consider as an identity whatever the name & areas it gets represent . It is in this line research should not be made in water tank compartment . The result of research may speak for itself & as such it should not be separated

In research, definitely an experienced researcher will be prefered than an experienced teacher. An experienced teacher may not likely be a good researcher and vice versa
